South Wellfleet Neighborhood Association and Social Union (SWNASU) invites bids from qualified contractors for the Pond Hill School Rehabilitation, South Wellfleet, MA. Pond Hill School is listed in the State and National Register of Historic Places. Bid documents include plans and specifications; septic plans and specifications; and a detailed Instructions to Bidders.
The project is being partially funded with a grant from the Massachusetts Preservation Projects Fund through the Massachusetts Historical Commission. All work must be performed in accordance with the documents prepared by Hadley Crow Studio, Architects and Landscape Architects, Box 1917, Orleans, MA (tel: 508 255-8001; info@hadleycrowstudio.com ). Work must comply with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. State law prohibits discrimination, and award of this contract is subject to Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity guidelines.
A copy of the bidding documents may be obtained by contacting the architect using the contact information listed above. A non-refundable deposit of $ 50.00, in the form of a certified treasurer’s check, cashier’s check, or cash is required. Checks must be made out to South Wellfleet Neighborhood Association and Social Union. If documents are to be mailed, the check or cash should be in the amount of $ 60.00.
References: Bidders are requested to include the names, addresses, phone numbers and if possible the email addresses of a minimum of 3 references, pertaining to projects with structures of a similar age, scope and complexity to the project contained in the Contract Documents. Failure to include a list of references may result in the disqualification of a bid.
To fulfill this requirement, bidders MAY provide evidence that they have worked on at least 3 properties listed on the State or National Register of Historic Places within the past 5 years. (NOT REQUIRED)
A pre-bid meeting will be held at the Pond Hill School on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 9:00 AM.
All bids should be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Pond Hill School Rehabilitation.” Bids will be accepted on or before 12 noon, Friday, March 2, 2012, Submit Bid To:

Or – Deliver bids by hand in sealed envelope to the Pond Hill School on Route 6, Mile Marker 100, South Wellfleet before the time, and on the day, that bids are due.
Any bid received after this time and date will be returned unopened to the bidder. No exceptions will be allowed. FAX bids will not be accepted. Any protests or disputes relating to the bidding process and/or the award shall be deemed waived if not received in writing by SWNASU on or before Monday, March 9, 2012, or the execution of the contract with the winning bidder, whichever is earlier. No bidder may withdraw his or her bid within 45 days of the bid date.
Bids shall be evaluated on the basis of price, previous experience with similar types of construction projects, ability to perform the work in a timely manner, and references.
SWNASU reserves the right to accept and/or reject any and all bids and waive any informalities in bidding procedures to the extent allowed by law, and to make an award deemed to be in the best interest of SWNASU. Contract award will be made on or before March 13, 2012.
